Basic Introduction to Handguns
Michigan CPL Class:
Experienced NRA, MCOLES & NLEFIA Certified Instructor from Traverse City Firearms Fundamentals will conduct a one-day NRA Personal Protection in the Home course in a professional setting. This class meets all requirements to apply for a concealed pistol license in Michigan. Certificates will be awarded to students at the end of class.
This class is for shooters who have already mastered the basics of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and clearing the firearm. Beginner shooters are welcome and can be brought up to the level required to successfully complete this class. Please call Tony at (231) 499-8284 for details.
Gear List: Students need to bring a handgun, 100 rounds of ammunition, eye & hearing protection, bring a lunch and dress for the weather. No Single Action revolvers please!
Class Goal: To develop in the student the basic knowledge, skills and attitude essential for the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, to provide information on the law, and of the law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense.
Cost: $125 (includes all class materials & range time) Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required.
Gun Rentals: Rentals are available $25. (Request rental upon registration and ammunition included.)

Basic Introduction to Handguns
This is a comprehensive 3-hour step-by-step course for new shooters and new shooters with limited experience. Students will be introduced to Grip, Stance, Aiming, Trigger Control, Loading & Unloading, Handgun Operation, Malfunction Clearing, Ammunition types, Firearm cleaning/lubrication and Range etiquette. It also covers general relevant laws & regulations to include safe storage laws and techniques.
